The slate is set for the state primary elections.
With Rep. Mike Chenault not seeking reelection, House Seat 29 is wide open, and has attracted three candidates, Shawn Butler of Hope running as a nonpartisan, and candidates Ben Carpenter and Wayne Ogle, both of Kenai, are running for the Republican nod.
Chenault gave up his house seat to run for Alaska governor, but his name does not appear on the state's final candidate list for that, or any, office.
In House District 30, Rep. Gary Knopp is running unopposed in the closed Republican primary. No other candidate from any other parties threw their hat into the ring.
In Senate District O, incumbent Republican Sen. Peter Micciche is facing a primary challenge from Ron Gillham. There are no candidates in other parties running.
District 31, which stretches from south of Soldotna to Kachemak Bay, has three Republicans seeking the chance to unseat Rep. Paul Seaton, who caucused with Democrats the past two years and is now running for reelection as a nonpartisan. The Republican primary will feature John Cox of Anchor Point, Hank Kroll of Soldotna, and Sarah Vance of Homer.
