With clearance granted from the State, Buccaneer Energy is set to begin drilling operations on its Kenai Loop Project.
This is the latest step for Buccaneer after spending much of 2011 laying the groundwork by drilling test wells and gathering seismic data for the area. According to Monday’s press release, the new 3-D data has confirmed previous observations about the area that could not be fully explained based on 2-D information from the 1970’s.
The company says the drilling rig Glacier One has been moved to the pad and will be put to use in the next two to four weeks when a final bottom-hole location is determined.
